The Kampa Minnis 4 is a great little, simple, no-nonsense tent that is ideal for weekend getaways. Last season we ran a very similar tent called the Wynnster Falcon Deluxe which ended up being a 'must have' tent. The Minnis 4 is a low-level (1.45m) 4-berth vis-à-vis tent with a 2+2 sleeping configuration. For couples, the second inner can be used for storage or for hosting friends and for small families (Bilbo and Frodo Baggins) the tent is absolutely ideal.
The construction is a simple, easy to erect 4 fibreglass poles all of which are the same length so no time wasted trying to identify which pole goes where. The groundsheet is fully sewn-in to keep the elements at bay and there are two doors, front and rear, for simple in-out access. The two doors can be rolled up or propped out to form canopies (no porch poles provided).
The specification of the tent is very high; a top quality 100D Weathershield flysheet with fire retardancy and UV protection. The flysheet has fully taped seams and offers 4000mm Hydrostatic Head waterproof protection. The inners are 190T breathable polyester with PE groundsheets and the frame is of Fibreglass 9.5mm poles. Other features include, reinforced pegging points, pre-attached fluorescent guylines, inner tent pockets, lamp hanging point and side vents.
