Celebrating the easy-to-pitch-and-pack tents of the Native Americans on the Great Plains (watch out for the cavalry), this back-to-basics tipi offers all the comfort you could want. The Indian Lake pitches flysheet first or as one with only one telescopic alloy pole in the centre, and it sleeps up to 6 persons in a 3+3 universal inner tent. Four large windows with roll down curtains let in generous amounts of daylight, while excellent ventilation is secured by the vent at the top of the tent, the rain safe vents above the windows, and the no-see-um-mesh between the living area and the adjoining porch area. Maximum floor comfort is ensured by a zip-out groundsheet, and there is a detachable bathtub groundsheet in the porch.
Outwell's own Airtech* Polycotton flysheet provides a cool internal climate and is inherently more breathable than polyester. While polycotton is also heavier than polyester, the increased weight of the tent has been offset by the use of lightweight aluminium alloy for the central tent pole. Another major feature is the zipped in PVC tarpaulin groundsheet that provide a totally enclosed environment when in use but can be completely removed and cleaned/aired when not.
Other handy features include organiser pockets, full length mesh pockets in the inner tent, adjustable reinforced pegging points; pre-attached luminous guys; Outwell Dry Zip System; Outwell doormat; Guyline retainer system.
*Airtech is a Polycotton fabric with a water repellent coating on the outside which allows water droplets to form and run off the tent then, as the rain gets heavier the fabric closes up and seals itself to become totally waterproof. Airtech also has a strong resistance to UV decay and, if carefully looked after, will last for many years.
