What can anyone say about this fantastic compact tent that knocks spots off most 3-berth weekenders for style and quality. The Outwell Birdland 3 can be characterised as a comfortable 'couples tent' who want something quick and easy to erect but also want their creature comforts - like being able to stand up in it when erected - and have a usful amount of living space.
The Birdland has a 3-person inner tent with an 'O' shaped stow-away door and a deceptively large living area which measures 2m x 2.5m - giving plenty of space for table, chairs and perhaps a storage unit too. Out front, the large panel front door can be propped open to form a sun canopy (porch poles not included). On either side of the living space are two large windows to allow in plenty of light and each featuring adjustable toggle-up curtains so you can control the light and level of privacy required. The other extraordinary feature for such a small tent is the 1.9m headroom throughout which negates any uncomfortable bending or crawling.
Other key features include mesh vents above the main windows and at the rear of the tent, mesh pockets in the inner tent, cable entry point, lamp holder and cable tidies. The technical features include 19/22mm steel upright pole, 11.0/12.7mm Duratec fibreglass poles; flysheet first or all as one pitching; an Outtex 4000 flysheet (a fire retardant polyester based material of 4000mm hydrostatic head) double stitched with taped seams; nylon carry bag; adjustable pegging points; Outwell doormat; pre-attached luminous guy lines; Outwell heavy duty zips; guy line retainers.
