The Outwell Monterey range of tents was launched in 2011 and immediately established itself as a firm favourite and so is repeated in 2012 without any significant changes being made. The Monterey 4 features a distinctive integral front canopy plus a front panel that can either be opened half way across or the whole way, giving the tent plenty of versatility, espacially in fine weather. The Outwell Monterey 4 is essentially a two room tunnel tent with a 2+2 berth sleeping compartment, a living space measuring an ample 3.5x1.5m and then an external porch space under the canopy. In addition to the versatile front door panel there's also a side doorway which could be propped open to form a sun canopy. Another feature of the Monterey's is the large window panels which allow in a massive amount of light and feature adjustable toggle-up curtains to adjust the light/privacy levels. The living space features a fully sewn-in double coated polyethylene groundsheet to ensure all of the elements are kept at bay. The tent is designed to sleep a maximum 4 people but for smaller numbers the bedroom features a 2+2 universal inner tent, one half of which can be detached and folded away if not being used.
The technical specifications of the tent include 19/22mm steel upright poles plus 12.7mm Duratec fibreglass poles; flysheet first or all as one pitching; an Outtex 4000 75D 100% polyester flysheet (a fire retardant material of 4000mm hydrostatic head) double stitched with taped seams, double-coated 100% polythylene groundsheet with 10,000mm HH, breathable 100% polyester universal inner tent. Other key features include mesh vents above the main windows, convenient organiser pockets, cable entry point, lamp holder and cable tidies, nylon carry bags for poles and canvas, adjustable pegging points, Outwell doormat, pre-attached luminous guy lines, Outwell heavy duty zips, guy line retainers, Outwell easy pegging System (colour coded pegs for easy pitching).
