We used the bag for a set time continuous stay over a week and found the bag expanded to its fullest after the first night. I would recommend setting up the sleeping first at your chosen camp site. We did cheat the first night and put a hot water bottle in to pre heat but we were also numb from the cold. We had been walking through rivers etc in NZ mountains mid winter. I am sure this was a luxury and we would have been fine without our indulgence. We had the best sleep every night and it was so nice to be able to sleep together. We are very happy with our purchase and have recommended the bag to others.[...]@Chris & Mary The Outwell Lakeview Double Sleeping Bag is a fantastic bit of kit!!

- Thin but warm

Despite it's high cost, it does seem a little under filled compared to my duck down jacket. However, it kept us nice and warm during moderately cool nights, not waking once with a cold chill during those early hours. As it is quite thin, it doesn't give you much to cuddle up to as did our usual 2 x duvet solution does.
The pack size is excellent giving us a lot more room in the car than we had storing two duvets and it's very easy to squash it back in the bag when you're done. My main recommendation to people putting it on an air bed is to make sure you take an insulating blanket along to fit in between the bag and the mattress. The only time it briefly felt a little chilly was when the air bed was particularly cold and the bag didn't manage to keep that cold out.
How this bag would actually fair during a 0 degree night is something I hope I don't have to find out. The coldest night we had was probably 8 degrees and it did the job well. I would worry a little that I might not be as warm as they suggest with their ratings. All in all, an overpriced but somehow worth it bit of kit. Strong zips and the sense that it's well made..@Rooster very thorough review of the Outwell Lakeview Double sleeping bag. It's very warm and lightweight with plenty of room for the two of you
