Just when you thought that they couldn't make a tent more sumptuous than the last, Outwell have managed to trump themselves again by introducing the new Clear Lake. The Outwell Clear Lake features a front 'Panoramic Room', a fully enclosed conservatory type porch area with a zipped in groundsheet with multiple windows (all with covers for privacy) for an uninterrupted view of the outside world. The rear living area also features a zip in groundsheet and 2+3 berth universal breathable polyester inner which sleeps up to five in a sideways-on position to the entrance doorways at the front and rear of the tent.
The tent stands at 2.3m and so there is massive headroom throughout while the ventilation over each of the windows also adds to the impressive air circulation - helping to keep the tent cool in hot weather. The Panoramic Room plus the rear living space makes for great flexibility on how you want to arrange your living, dining and storage areas.
As part of the Outwell Classic tent range, the Clear Lake features an Outtex Airtech (65% cotton; 35% polyester) flysheet that provides a cooler internal climate and is inherently more breathable than polyester. While it is also significantly heavier than polyester, the increased weight of these tents has been offset by the use of 25mm aluminium alloy poles throughout rather than heavier steel as found in most other tunnel tents of this size. Another major feature is the zipped in PVC tarpaulin groundsheets (10,000mm HH) that provide a totally enclosed environment when in use but can be completely removed and cleaned/aired when not.
Outtex Airtech is a Polycotton fabric with a water repellent coating on the outside which allows water droplets to form and run off the tent then, as the rain gets heavier the fabric closes up and seals itself to become totally waterproof. Outtex Airtech also has a strong resistance to UV decay and, if carefully looked after, will last for many years. The Outwell Clear Lake also features large windows in the living area and porch, window vents and covers, flysheet first or as-one pitching, two steel porch poles, two zip-in groundsheets, wheeled carrier bag, organiser pockets, adjustable reinforced pegging point, pre-attached luminous guys, mesh pockets in inner tents, heavy duty Outwell zips, drying rails, clothes rail, cable entry point, cable tidies and lamp holder, low lights, Guyline retainer system. Separate canvas and poles bags provided plus Outwell doormat.
