Kampa is a welcomed new entrant into the World of inflatable tents with their new Kampa Southwold Tents - the Southwold 4+2 and the Southwold 8. The Southwold 4 + 2 makes an ideal touring tent because it’s so fast to set up and pack away, but it’s also big enough for an extended stay.
The Kampa Southwold 4+2 is essentially a 4-berth tent and comes complete with a breathable 4-man bedroom inner with a zipped dividing curtain to create a 2+2 arrangement. However, if you want to create extra bedroom space, you can also erect an addition 2-berth inner at the opposite end of the tent so sleeping six in total. This optional 2-berth inner is purchased separately.
Kampa's new inflatable tents means there's no more traditional steel poles but instead an inflatable 'AirFrame' that is pre-attached to the awning and so there is now awkward or time-consuming assembly.
The 'AirPoles' that create the frame are also inter-connected so that you can pump the entire frame up using just one valve. Conversely if something happens to damage one of the 'AirPoles' it can be isolated from neighbouring poles using the in-built isolation valve therefore ensuring continued use of the Awning while a repair or replacement is arranged.
You simply use a double-action hand pump (supplied) to inflate the AirFrame and it will be fully inflated in 60 seconds. There's also no need to worry about over inflating these AirPoles as they are very high pressure and the pump will simply cease to work when they are full. You will be amazed how rigid the AirFrame is when fully inflated.
The Southwold 4+2 has large living area (400x330cm without the 2-berth optional inner) with a door in either side wall both featuring a rain save canopy overhead and both with mesh double doors to increase air circulation while keeping bugs out. Next to each door is a full size picture window with external privacy covers.
If the 2-berth optional inner is not being used, there are zips at one end of the tent allow the end panel to be fully opened and propped open during good weather creating a nice sun canopy.
The Kampa Southwold 4+2 has a fully sewn in groundsheet will keep the elements at bay. The front of the inner has numerous storage pockets, extremely useful for your camping accessories.
